Week 3 Day 1
So I started Week 3 of the C25K program yesterday. It is shorter then the other weeks, and less intervals, so I didn't burn as many calories which is a bummer, but that's ok. my heart rate was still up there. For week 3 you walk 5, run 90sec. walk 90 sec. run 3 min walk 3 min, run 3 min and walk 5. So I actually RAN for 3 minutes! I am proud. I was winded, but so be it. I did adjust my speed to make up for the longer time. I walked at 3.4 and ran at 4.5-4.7 rather then the 5.0-5.1 that I was doing. I'll work back up to that. And I am at 1.0 incline too. I can't wait until I can run outside! Spring, where are YOU???

Week 2 Day 3 & Weigh IN
Complete! I finished this last night, and it was pretty hard. I wasn't feeling really well to begin with, but was determind to push through. About 1/2 way through I thought about stopping, my knees were killing me and I just felt blah. I didn't though. I am pretty proud to have completed it. Because I had such a hard time with it, I think I am going to repeat the day one more time. I am pretty worried about week3 to begin with, and with not feeling well completing Week 2, I think I owe to me to get it in feeling 100%.
Today was also weigh in day. I had these horrible dreams last night that I gained almost 17 lbs WTH?? I woke up flipping out. I am happy to report though that when I stepped on mr. Scale, it read 254.8, down from 258 last saturday!! So super excited! That is my first 10 lbs!!! Orignally I was going to get a reward of a sports bra, but I think new sneakers more, so that's the plan, as soon as our taxes come in. We sure can't afford it any other way, I am OK with that.
I am torn between taking today off and going to the gym for my class today. I am still not feeling 100%, my body is tired and I have a minor head cold going on. Class starts in 1 hour, so I have =30 to decide, We'll see what happens between now and then.... If I don't get there, I am actually OK with it, where a couple of weeks ago I would have beat myself for not going!

Great Update!
Yesterday I completed Week 1 Day 3 of the C25K Program! I feel great and think I will move on to week 2. I wasn't sure on Day 2 of this week if I would or not, but I think I will at least try it, if all else fails, then I'll just repeat one again, no biggie. I've also spotted a couple 5K's that I'd like to work towards, so that is great motovation.
Today was weigh in day. I was somewhat nervous about this since it's my TOM and I know I am retaining water weight. Nonetheless, I still weighed in at 258!! Wahoo! That is 2 lbs down from last week, and breaking out the 260's FOREVER!!

Adjusting my plan
I am adjusting things a tiny bit. I've promised myself 30 min of cardio everyday. I need to promise only 6 days. I am WAY to tired on Tuesdays (which is my longest day of the week) to get this in. It happened last week and again today. It's already 9:30, we are just getting the kids to bed and I am just ready to crash myself. So I don't think there is anything wrong with giving myself that 1 day to catch up. maybe it's just what my body is craving??
I am doing this!
I went home last night, and downloaded the C25K podcast on my ipod. Went to the gym and did Week 1 Day 1. I won't say it was easy. It was not as hard as I thought it would be, but not easy either. I enjoyed it and look forward to doing it again Wednesday night. With this program you do it only 3 days per week, no more, no less. After 9 weeks, or longer if you feel your not ready to move on a week or two, you are then ready to run 3.1 miles, or a 5K race. there are quite a few in our area in April and May, so I going to pick one towards the end of April and have that be my goal, something to work towards. I I figure this way, If I need to add an extra week on I have time to be flexible.
We also got Mike's best friends wedding date last night, It's August 8th, In Denver, Colorado, so a vaca for hubby and I and yet another goal for me! Too look GOOD for Mark and Kelly's wedding.
I am excited about the possibilities. Time will tell right??!!
Not sure I've lost any more then that original 4 lbs yet, but I still feel good. My clothes fit better, I can button my jeans and they are longer on me too! Yippie!!

Weigh In day
So although I didn't lose any more then 6 ounces, at least I didn't gain any either. I was worried about this weigh in, but I am over it. I figure with the way I am working out and doing strength traning, I am gaining a lot of muscle, and muscle weighs more then fat right? So I am OK with staying at 260 for yet another week, it just means that I am gaining muscle!
I've stayed right in my 1700-1900 calories range right along, and have only missed 1 day of a 30 mintue workout. All in all I feel really good about this still. The teacher in my Body Electric class even knows my name now! That means I've been there enough that she wants to remember me!
:-)
Tonight is our big dinner at melting pot. I have no idea how to track those calories, but it's OK, I had a great strength training today and last night, and burned 400 calories on the elliptical last night and 100 on the bike, so I am doing ok. I think I deserve this night out and am REALLY looking forward to it!

New Goal
Since I am determined to get at least 30 minutes of some sort of exercise in every day, weather it be, cardio or strength training, or just walking 1 or 2 miles, I figured I better up my anty. I have for 10 days now stuck with that promise to myself and it shows and I feel great!
So NOW, I vow that every time I go to the bathroom while I am at work, I will do 10 wall push ups or squats. Every little bit counts right?
In other news, I am VERY glad that I have declared Saturday morning my weigh in day! Hubby and I are going to the melting pot on Saturday night to celebrate our birthday's. This is by no means healthy (well, the cheese and chocolate part anyway) and I am very much looking forward to this dinner. So while I will not over stuff myself, I will indulge and enjoy it immensely. And weigh in that morning, not the next! :)
